It might be just a cat but it seems that Taylor Swift’s pet is richer than all of us combined – this comes after the news that the cat has a net worth of $97 million! Wow.
However, despite the many dollar signs to her name, Olivia Benson (Taylor Swift’s cat), isn’t actually the richest cat in the world as the spot is currently held by Nala Cat, with a net worth of $100 million.

Still, the staggering amount is enough to wow the world, especially since most of us don’t even have a hundred thousand dollars to our names – and these cats are worth so many millions.
Why Taylor Swift’s Pet is So Rich
Olivia Benson is actually just one of Taylor Swift’s several cats. Taylor got her back in June 2014 and chose to name her after Mariska Hargitay’s character on “Law & Order: SVU” – that’s why the name is familiar.
Oh, you might find it interesting that the actress who plays Olivia Benson in the series has roughly the same net worth as her cat namesake. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Mariska has a net worth of $100 million.
But let’s go back to the question of why Taylor’s cat is so rich.

Apparently, her money comes from several sources, including several appearances in Taylor’s music videos.
For example, you might notice her in “Blank Space” and “Me!” She was also on Taylor’s “1989 World Tour” in 2015.
This cat is living a luxurious lifestyle, but she really works hard for that – such as in selling her merch line alongside Meredith, another one of Taylor’s cats. LOL
But really, she does have a merch line with Meredith, which includes stickers, pens, pins, earrings, and so much more.

Of course, we’re not saying that this cat got rich just because of the merch and appearing in the videos. It matters that she’s Taylor’s cat (though the others aren’t as rich as she is).
Here’s Taylor’s explanation of why Olivia appears more than Meredith:

Other Richest Pets in the World
Olivia Benson (the cat) ranks third and Nala Cat ranks second on the list of the world’s richest pets. At the top is a German shepherd named Gunther VI (worth $500 million and owned by the Gunther Corporation).
Just below Olivia Benson are Oprah Winfrey’s four pet dogs, which have a $30 million trust fund to their name (or paws). Wow.
